I've been to Moon Cricket a handful of times over the past year and although I want to support it since its a local business I just can't seem to have consistent good experiences. If i had to rate the place on its beer menu I'd give it a strong 4 because the list of beers is huge although not a huge draft selection. Food-meh, its fine its just bar food so expect lots of fried stuff. They've got sandwiches and burgers too but this is not the spot to go if you are watching your calories...or fat intake...or sodium...or the biggest loser... Service- not good. they always seem to be understaffed because the waitresses are always rushing around and remembering half of the stuff they were asked for Live music- really enjoyable, the only downside is that it's indoors so it gets really loud inside and you can't hear it outside Outside seating- its always enjoyable to be outside but they allow smoking so it tends to be overpowering Overall I can't say I'd never return but its not a favorite. I think a rating of a 3 is generous at that so its really the good beer menu that keeps me from a 2 rating.

We live in Winter Garden and love to walk downtown especially to go to Moon Cricket to hang out and eat. But, lately we are going less because the owners girlfriend is back and she makes the whole place tense which ruins the atmosphere of why we go there. The staff is what makes it feel truly local and the owners girlfriend takes it away so if you go enough you will know when she is there so come back later because all the other times it is a great place. We grew up here and have friends that left for a whole year because of the girlfriend!

Originally I thought the place was an arts and craft store, to my pleasant surprise it is a great bar and restaurant with an incredible bar staff. ((We are big fans of Amy). They have an incredible beer selection and very good food. Each time we come in we try a different flatbread. Everyone of those flatbreads is great. So now I'm working through 99 beers so I can get my name on the wall.

What a great local place! The food is amazing-- let me start by saying the burgers are delicious and so juicy... then the shrimp tacos-- they are my favorites.. 3 jumbo shrimp on each small flour tortillas .. absolutely delicious.... I actually go for the Coconut Cram cake-- I love coconut and this is one of the best cakes I've ever had.. moist and creamy! Then there is the first class entertainment.. Tim Neilsen was there last night and he has one of the best voices and plays guitar like Jimmy Hendrix! Not to be missed wherever he plays... We love the Moon Cricket Grille!

An order misunderstanding on the beer selections was left on the table and enjoyed @ n/c by a friend. The fried tomatoes were really perfect. Good size and hit the table too hot to eat and super crunchy. The romelade type dipping sauce was a really good add. A must try if you go here! The hamburger melt too, was too hot to eat but later proved well worth the wait. Med-well was spot on with grilled onions! Damn good really. Fries are Steak and Shake "shoe string" sized style (my favorite!) and was good to the very last littlest freakin' piece. Hey the wait service outside was attentive, and regular and timely on serving our foods. Good going Cathy!

It was our first experience here and it was a positive one. The Fried Green Tomatoes were awesome. The rest of the food was pretty good, good temperature everything was fresh and the server was pretty friendly. Will come back with the rest of the family.

What a cool little spot that IS pet friendly and has a killer beer list. The waitress did a good job finding a great Amber beer for me to start which went great with their homemade kettle chips!
(4)Abbey W.
Beware. Menu provided here is wrong. They now offer less food for more money. Not too friendly staff either. Wish there was a 0 stars option.

Great place located downtown Winter Garden. Great food and service. I order the fish reuban a lot but the rest of the menu is also very tasty. Mandy, Candy, Kristen, and Linda are awesome.
(5)Shane H.
I actually enjoyed this place a lot more than I thought I would. I can't comment on evening service or the bar because I have only been here for lunch. The service was excellent, they were prompt and professional and very patient. The food was above average but not outstanding. More than anything I really love the location and the look of the place. It is very authentic looking and has a great feel to it. I would definitely go back here again for lunch without hesitation. What happens at night with the service I can't comment on but I have a hard time believing it get's THAT bad once they get a little busy. Try the Bam Bam Shrimp, you won't be disappointed.

Moon Cricket Grille is nestled in the small & quaint historic downtown of Winter Garden where all the buildings were originally built between 1910-1920. The town is charming & Moon Cricket Grille is an awesome restaurant & bar with literally 99 bottles of beer on the wall (& on the beer menu). The restaurant serves salads, burgers, sanwhiches, & wraps. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger & it was juicy, seasoned very well, & cooked a perfect medium temperature. The fries the burger was served with were thin, crispy, & homemade & they were really good. My mother ordered a cheeseburger with a cucumber onion side salad & it was tangy from being pickles in vinegar. We both liked it a lot although our friend who also ordered a side did not. Our friend ordered a crispy portebello mushroom cap topped with melted provolone cheese, and stuffed with garlic bread crumbs & creamy spinach & artichoke dip. We all tried it & it was really, really delicious. Overall, the food was great, the beer selection superb, & the service quite accommodating. Next time in the area, I'll definitely stop back in. I especially loved the ambiance & the original tin roof which gives the place such a cool, industrial vibe. The prices for the food & beer are also extremely affordable & make Moon Cricket that much more desirable. Awesome place.

so if you have read my reviews you know that my rating is based on what your (well my) reasonable expectations are. Moon Creek Grille - the only difference between a 4 & 5 star is slim and more so because I have had a handful of experiences with 1-2 of the staff that honestly is a shame compared to the overall friendly service. this is my local bar and I don't even live all that close to call it that. I come here to get away for a few, hang out with friends, casual night with the family or to listen to live music. sometimes all of the above. Food is good for what they offer. Service is great (except 1-2 individuals) and the atmosphere is just very warm. Join the 99 Club for an excuse to come back, not that you need one.
(4)Dan L.
Really great atmosphere and beer selection, but the food was nothing special. Had the fish tacos, and to be honest it had little taste. Their attempt to add flavor was something called bam-bam sauce that just tasted like mayo and thousand island dressing. Staff seemed nice enough, but didn't really go out of their way to make you feel welcome or exceed expectations. If you're looking for a chill place to grab a beer with friends, this is it...but I'd eat elsewhere in downtown winter garden.
(3)Bryan A.
Still meets our expectations each and every week. Buffalo chicken wrap is still my go-to item. They've also added flat breads to the menu which I believe are better than Urban Flats. I've had a chance to try a burger too. Pretty good. My kids love the grilled cheese sandwich. Comes on sourdough bread...Mmm. The fries are also usually very good! Ask for extra seasoning, they make it from scratch. Ask for Linda or Brittany as your server. Both of them are usually on top of their game.
(4)John B.
The filet mignon steak sandwich was awesome! The service really sucked though... We came all the way from Houston Tx to visit family and friends; one of whom wouldn't stop raving about the mushroom artichoke spinach appetizer thing which we never got to try because the waitress never placed the order with the cook. When the manager looked it was even written down on her note pad, and instead of apologizing and recovering the waitress attempted to divert the blame onto our friend who placed the order. Not a good look, and a very drama filled scenario that no one should ever have to deal with at dinner. I personally will never eat here again. The sandwich was definitely good, but with terrible service like that I will sooner spend my money else where.

We decided to do lunch here on a Saturday before meeting friends at the brewery nearby. It was seat yourself so we grabbed one of the only open tables which was a high top squeezed in between booths on one side and the bar on the other. The place was really interesting to look at with an awesome skylight, knickknacks on the walls and exposed brick. It didn't look like the servers had sections and they were working both the bar and the floor. It took a little bit to get a server to bring us the menus. We ordered 2 beers (they were out of one) and a sandwich (a Reuben with fries) and a salad (the strawberry salad). There were no ciders on their beer list but I could clearly see other people drinking them and see them in the case. There were a few beers that were also in the coolers that weren't on the beer list. It took about 30 minutes for our food to come up (not bad considering there wasn't an open table in the place and it was a Saturday afternoon). My Fiance said his Reuben was good but nothing spectacular. The fries were yummy and I asked for a side of remoulade sauce since I heard it was good. The sauce was by far the best part of the meal! My strawberry salad was served with raspberry vinaigrette and I should have listened to others on here to get it with the poppyseed dressing. There was no vinegar taste at all to the dressing. In fact, there was no acid in it whatsoever. I would have poured this over a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a stack of pancakes and called it raspberry syrup! The salad had grilled chicken (not dry, well seasoned), walnuts (bland, no taste, barely toasted), strawberries (TONS of them. Like double what you get on any other strawberry salad) and blue cheese (the most mild blue cheese ever. I actually thought they had substituted feta instead). It was just sweet on sweet on sweet. I couldn't even get through the whole thing without my stomach hurting. On top of that I had ordered a cider which is also sweet. I committed a cardinal sin of leaving about 1/3 of my cider on the table when we left. In summary, I really liked the atmosphere of the Moon Cricket but I would definitely think twice about going back, especially with all the other stuff around.
(3)Joe L.
Great atmosphere, fun staff and the food is good too. Very nice quaint little place. It's a must visit! Candy was our server. She was awesome! !!! Make sure to ask for her.
(5)Ann S.
Small quaint place with a decent beer selection. Food was good. Server was very nice but very slow. Had Great live music.
(4)Rick Z.
I really want to like this place. But I don't. I've tried. I just don't feel like going back, which is a shame because it has a great location and so much potential. Let's start with the good: Beer selection. There's no getting around the fact that they have a great selection. After all, they have a 99 bottles-of-beer club. Atmosphere. It's housed in a gorgeous historic building that used to be the town general store. The preservation of the old-style feel is wonderful. The ceilings and fixtures look original and the tables (I believe) were made from old bowling alley lanes. Unfortunately, the positives end there. The main reason I just can't recommend this place is the staff and/or management... I think? Lack thereof? They seem to close whenever the staff feels like it. I looked on the door at the hours and they only had opening time listed (huge pet peeve of mine). It was around 7:45. There was a fairly good crowd (this was during the NCAA tournament). As I walked in, before I even got 5 steps into the door, one of the servers said they were closing (and not in a friendly way). Another time I called beforehand (not to be fooled again). I asked when they were closing tonight. They replied (again, in a short, curt manner) "now". This was once again between 7:30 and 8. When I did finally get the chance to have dinner there, the staff just seemed aloof and out of it. For how friendly the town of Winter Garden is, it's out of place. I don't like to feel like I am bothering someone when I am patronizing their business. We ate on a weekend night and they had someone playing live music. This is great and all, but it was WAY too loud. so loud that we couldn't hear each other talk in a booth near the back. The food was ok. Nothing special. Seemed like it was all from a freezer. Again, not good or bad, just unmemorable. My recommendation is to get a couple beers in the afternoon. Skip dinner - they may not be open.
(2)Andrew J.
Best beer selection in WG, great food and Literally everything to eat is tasty! You gotta try the fried green tomatoes or the wings! To enjoy your experience, you have to sit in Brittany or Cathy's section.
(4)Brandon B.
Awesome place for lunch! I had the shrimp po boy. My wife had the avocado chicken sandwich. The po boy was good but only had 4 shrimp on the sandwich but the shrimp had amazing flavor and the toppings on the sandwich was very very good and fresh. The chicken sandwich was amazing! The chicken was so perfectly cooked and juicy! The avocado was was so good! Beer on happy our is 1.69 which u can't beat! Don't pass this place up!

I tried this spot out recently while I was in the neighborhood. I met a friend for drinks and a quick dinner. I can't say I would hurry back. The bartender was awesome. There was live music. They have woodchuck so that is a plus as well. However, the food... maybe I ordered the wrong thing but it just wasn't good. I went with the Grilled Chicken and Avocado Club Herbed Chicken Breast with Hickory Smoked Bacon, Melted Swiss, Watercress, Ripe Tomato, and Mustard Aioli on Toasted Multi Grain Bread. I can't say I tasted any avocado and the bacon was really minimal. It was a very underwhelming sammie. My friend ordered a pizza and that looked very tasty so like I mentioned, maybe I ordered the wrong thing but it wasn't good in the least. The ambiance is cool, a tavern feel with seating at the bar, inside and outside. Next time I would grab a seat outside and enjoy the Winter Garden area. Maybe a good spot to bring your pup and grab a drink outside.
(2)Amanda M.
Had the Reuben with fries. Pretty tasty for 10 bucks. Had a good bottled beer selection. Not bad.
(3)Kraig K.
My wife and I had the fried green tomatoes appetizer, chicken avocado club sandwich and the margherita pizza flatbread. The fried green tomatoes were just average to us. They were heavily recommended by the waitress. We were going to have the spinach dip (we wish we would have it looked amazing at the table next to us), but trusted her recommendation. The tomatoes were too greasy for us. The chicken avocado sandwich was disappointing to me. It was a very thin chicken breast, like a stack of 3 pepperoni tall. It was missing the bacon that menu described to be on the sandwich. The margherita pizza flatbread was by far the best thing we had, but it was extremely greasy. When I think ok flatbread I think of crispy crust and toppings. No way around it, this was New York style pizza on a small scale. As my wife and I walked away we decided we probably wouldn't return, both citing the amount of grease that brought down the tomatoes and flat bread.

I come here periodically for work lunches and it's consistently mediocre The most memorable moment I had here was a few months back when I came here around noon with a few colleagues and we witnessed an older gentlemen piss drunk fall off his stool and wobble out onto the streets of downtown winter garden. Besides that, it's a whole lot of okay burgers and serviceable appetizers They do have a crap ton of beer selections and the service is usually good although the food can take awhile FUN FACT: If you try 99 beers, you get your name on the wall
(3)Annie A.
It's a typical bar. Everyone is friendly but the food is ehhhh. Enjoy the live music with your friends and have a round of drinks. You'll have a great time!
(3)Jen O.
Arrived for lunch during the week. Few people were also eating and the place was nice and relaxed. The atmosphere is nice with some interesting history and architecture and our service was good. The menu offers a decent selection of typical pub food and an outstanding selection of beers to mull over. Unfortunately, that's where our luck ended. The food arrived in a good amount of time and although hot, absolutely flavorless and devoid of any way to know what it was we were eating other than its appearance. If it were possible to create food from hot empty matter and serve it for a price, this place knows how to do so and has figured out how to charge for it. I do not recommend eating here, although f you enjoy beers from all over, it may be worth stoping by.
(2)Libby G.
I go for the beer and Ruben. Fried green tomatoes are best appetizer. Great location.
(5)Gerry W.
Just had a few beers and watched basketball great time all ways cleanest urnals flush as you walk in so you never pee on pee
(5)Robb K.
I eat here often it has good bar food. I usually like to modify the menu and they always oblige. I took my wife there for her Birthday today. I hate going on weekends because of the crowds and service. Today was no different, if I didn't come here often I would have been turned off. I not it is not typical so I brushed it off. I like the chicken sandwich, burgers and po boy. If you are biking through downtown Winter Garden, it is a nice stop.
(4)Nancy R.
Great selection of beer, but had a customer using a high squealed app on their phone, staff thought it was funny. My ears are still ringing. Made a point to the bartender I was annoyed payed our tab and left. Hope they are great customers that they were able to run other customers out of the bar. Won't be coming back.
(2)Jayne T.
Last night I went to hear a local band play at this grille. The food was dry and hard and over seasoned. the place including rest rooms were dirty. The service was mediocre. I gave 2 stars one for the band n one for the service. Would not return for food.
(2)Jennifer R.
I visited Moon Cricket for a girls dinner with friends and was not disappointed! This place is great. The service was awesome, the beer selection was awesome, and the food was better! I had the shrimp po boy with 2 or 3 great beers and my night was perfect. The atmosphere is fun and definitely inviting. In the words or Arnold, I'll be back.
(5)Vanessa A.
99 bottles of beer in the fridge, 99 bottles of beer... Yep, that's indeed what they have...well, 99 different types of beer (and cider!) actually. But still, I hope someone though this up and it wasn't just a fluke. For a first-time visit, I was content! The server was super friendly, the locale casual and easy to find (their sign is very artsy) , the food quite tasty. We met our friends here for a birthday lunch. Being Monday we weren't surprised to find it barely full. You walk through the porch (with seating for about 16, and bowls for the four-legged family members) into an old-style, dark wood locale with tables, booths, and a long right-side bar. The front windows and transoms make it nice and bright in there, not at all what you'd be picturing based on the previous sentence. We waited a very reasonable amount of time and our food came: filet mignon sandwich with fries, Cuban with beans and rice and a chicken-strawberry salad. I can tell you the salad was delicious, with marinated (not just barely salted) chicken slices atop a bed of crisp mixed greens, topped with blue cheese and walnuts. I sub'd poppyseed dressing 'cause it's my fave :) The others made the usual full-mouth, 'I'm enjoying this' noises, and it was mentioned later that their fare was as good as mine; the fries being the only meh item (hubby mentioned that, had he requested the usual crispy, they'd likely have been excellent). The filet was medium and very tender, the Cuban tasty, the rice and beans flavorful. Bottom line: we'll be seen there again, perhaps in the evening to enjoy the live music.
(4)Jason S.
Great beer selection! And so the food is typical bar food but it is tasty!! Great little place to unwind on a Tuesday or any day! Great location and staff is always pleasant when I've been there.
(4)Thomas P.
My wife and I have been several times and the service is usually always poor at best the best part is the live music the last time we went we made the decision not to return
(1)Angie D.
Really great atmosphere and food! We always get the fish bites which are very good. All of the food we have tried has been really good and did I mention they have 99, yes 99 different beers!
(4)Tracey M.
I'm giving this 5 star for 2 for 1 Thursdays of Sappora! I do enjoy the burgers and friend green tomatos. It's a fun atmosphere, kind of like a cheers bar where everyone knows your name. Nice live entertainment and I enjoy a cold beer outside.
(5)Brenda B.
Lunch service is good, it always cold inside, and I personally do not like people smoking outside on the patio. Great strawberry chicken salad, and chicken sandwich'
(5)Chad B.
Service is lackluster at best! Arrived at 7:41pm for 2 for Tuesday to enjoy our beer club challenge and wasn't approached by the bartender until 8pm to inform us they where closing! Total of 6 patrons in the entire place and 10min to then be told that they where closing! I love downtown Winter Garden so if your not here to run a hospitable business get out! Let someone in that can! I'm sure they are lined up to take your place.
(1)Omari K.
My girlfriend and I live the Bam Bam Shrimp appetizer there, and the beer specials are always pretty cool. Aside from that, the service is usually hit or miss. Depending on who's on, I usually wind up leaving, feeling somewhat ignored and some of the wait staff don't make eye contact, which is a big deal to me considering I'd like to tip favorably.
(3)Jason R.
Service has gone seriously downhill lately. None of the servers seem to be enjoying their jobs. Food consistently comes out cold or incorrect.
(1)Rob P.
Consistently awesome service, especially if you're lucky enough to go on a day Candice is working- she is always great and makes every trip worth it--the flatbread, Reuben or fish tacos are always a good go-to, and the two for one days on Tuesdays and Thursdays are well worth it. Can get busy, but worth the wait....
(5)Frank V.
The decor in the place is very cool. Old stamped tin ceiling tiles and mouldings. Interesting knickknacks hang on the walls. Very loud. Unpleasantly so. We started with spinach and artichoke dip which was excellent. Very fresh tasting and not too much cheese. Also had a fried green tomatoes with a Remoulade sauce. Was passable. Tomatoes were too thinly sliced, oily, and the Remoulade sauce was too salty. Would not order this again. For an entree I had a Asian chicken salad with a ginger dressing and my girlfriend had a burger and fries. The salad was very good, but unfortunately was not served with the dressing. Once I finally got my server's attention (took over 5 mins) and received my dressing it was quite tasty. My girlfriend's burger was nicely cooked and tasty. Unfortunately she specified no pickles on the burger or the plate and it was served with a pickle spear on top of the cold fries. The server was inattentive and slow.

Really glad hubs and I stumbled upon this restaurant. #1 - It's very clean. #2. When you walk in you are sort of washed in sunlight from their skylights; That combined with the dark wood irish pub vibe made for good times. The fried green tomatoes are their specialty, and I loved them, the coating was perfect. They were greasy I had to take a napkin to soak up the grease before I ate it, that is my main pain point. I loved my sandwich and side salad, and so happy to know that the dressings were homemade. You can taste the care that goes into the food. check it out!
(4)Joanna C.
The last visit was not that great. Food was very GREASY! I suppose because I was there with 2 Tweens, we weren't taken very seriously by the waitress. She was quick to take our order, threw our food on the table, and obsolete when we needed our food cooked more, needed napkins, or anything. The only time in my life I didn't want to leave a tip. Only did because I dine in the area often. AVOID this place unless you need an endless amount of beer in this smelly old man watering hole. GROSS
(1)Patrick D.
If you're looking for a large beer selection you've found the right place. 99+ to choose from in bottles or draft, maybe a few csnned ones as well. Foods pretty good too, and live music done nights. Outdoor seating is available, I don't recommend bringing children here as it is a bar too, but it doesnt stop some folks( yeah, you know who you are! )
(4)Kim B.
We love this place for outdoor dining. Friendly servers and decent food keeps us coming back. Today I tried the turkey burger. A newer menu item. Pre-made, possibly frozen, very disappointing. If the owners read these reviews, go with a homemade fresh turkey burger. Hold up your claim of best burgers in town.
(3)Cho B.
Fun atmosphere in cute downtown. Good pub food. Great beer list. Decent happy hour 2-6.
(3)Jim B.
This is my kind of place. 99 different types of bottled beer. I have only 97 beers to go to get my name on the wall of fame. My wife and I spilt the Steak sandwich and My daughter had the buffalo chicken sandwich both with house made chips. The meals were perfectly cooked and tasted just like I would of at home. I plan on making my name on the wall within the next year so Moon Cricket will call my name when I walk though the Door just like they did in Cheers. BREW!
(5)Duane W.
Great food, beer and service!! I am becoming a regular. Shrimp appetizer was tasty. Strawberry-Chicken salad was a nice option.
(4)Michael K.
First if your looking for a place that has a wide and different range of beers just keep on walking. If your looking for a place of food that is unique and full of flavor, again keep on walking. It seems it tries to be something that it just doesn't have the menu to be. Bland tasteless food that you could find at any chain restaurant. A basic beer list that you can find at your local ale house. Not a sports bar that any sports fan would say would be a place to see your team.
(1)Mike R.
Moon Cricket Grille is the best!!! I love this place so much! I am a member of the 99 beer club ( they have 99 beers and once you are able to drink all 99 beers on your card you get your name on the way...pretty sweet!). My wife and a few of our friends go there every week sometimes multiple times in a week. The food is great the service is also very good all the servers are very nice and make sure you are taken care of. I usually get a burger of some sort, but everything is really good! It is a cool historic place that is very unique, and there is usually live music playing. Great place to eat/drink, casual environment, and good for families to come to as well.
(5)Elle H.
We dropped in during the Spring Festival for a few drinks after running into friends. What a great day! Our drinks were delivered promptly but oddly in small Solo plastic cups. That's OK - I'm no snob it was just strange - especially when the waitress apologized. I wondered if I had been sized up as a dropper & they didn't want to risk the stemware! Our friends ordered fried green tomatoes. At least one was very undercooked with the breading still soaking wet. Yuck. Otherwise they were very flavorful. The remoulade was thick and bland but it really wasn't needed because the breading had a great flavor. We got there at just the right time as it got packed about 10 minutes later. Service remained pretty good for the influx & I only had to waive down a waitress once. They do a 99-beers thing if you're into that. I think you get your name on the wall and perhaps your own mug or similar. (Don't hold me to that). Nothing about it is cozy or inviting. Very uncomfortable benches and chairs, harsh lighting, that kind of thing. It's a solid super casual spot that serves well for appetizers and drinks before a meal.
(3)Jeff H.
They have some good bottled beer here, Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier and Hoegaarden Wit Blanche. two very nice ones. I was sitting at the bar and asked the guy next to me, who was eating wings, if they were any good. He said "yes" so I figured....WTH. Well what a disappointment. They obviously started out their life frozen, the thawed, over blanched, chilled and then sat around for a couple of days before getting re- heated in the deep fryer leaving them dry, mealy and flavorless, save the pretty good sauce that was doused on them. Maybe that is what the guy next to me meant........The SAUCE was good.
(2)Ashley C.
Excellent beer selection, good food, and okay service. We were ready to order another round of beers but our waitress took too long to come back to our table so we just got the check instead. We had the shrimp po' boy and the grilled chicken avocado club, both were good but the po' boy had only five shrimp on it .
(3)Jared V.
Average place. It might be fun to do their 99 beers challenge, but I went here to eat somewhat healthy so I ordered a wrap and salad. The wrap was okay; wasn't a lot of flavor and it really didn't have anything in it other than grilled chicken, lettuce, and a little bit of dressing. The salad was a spring mix of lettuce and arugula, which I normally really like, but this was a bit wilty. Their balsamic dressing was really tasty though, so I ate it all. I sat outside, which wasn't the greatest idea because sweaty old people that just got done biking the west orange trail kept walking up and sitting down at the outside tables, which wasn't fun for a me while I was trying to eat.
(3)Jessica M.
Great location in downtown Winter Garden. Highlights - shaded patio, live music at night, decent bar fare, beer and wine only. Large beer selection but unfortunately they really don't carry anything interesting, just various selections from all the large distributers. No craft beers at all. Barstaff always very friendly.
(3)Melissa F.
Great atmosphere & good food. Nice little place to stop in. Plus, they have a wall of beer to choose from!
(4)Raina B.
I'd go back, but I'd go for lunch and skip the live music nights. Why do super tiny bars insist on cramming musicians with a drum kit inside? Maybe I'm the odd one out here - I enjoy talking to my companions and not just leering at them. The Moon Cricket Grille seems better suited for an unplugged guitar and vocal set. The food is the typical bar-ish fare of burgers, dips, and fries (and a nice amount of salad and wrap alternatives) to soak up all the beer you'll drink. The beer list is decent - but I have to ding them for touting their selection and not having any gluten free beers. Woodchuck hard cider is an alternative. The burger I had was average, seemed like a pre-formed frozen patty, what with it's uniform flatness and generic taste. Edible, but forgettable. We couldn't try the artichoke dip because they ran out of chips... on a Saturday night... uh, say what now?

The wings at MoonCricket are the best I've ever had. They have a kick ass beer selection too!

After listening to friends crave and rave the Moon Cricket Grille I was all prepared to give a four or five star rating, however, they were having an off day. Apparently, the menu is usually huge, several pages, small writing, lots of choices. They recently hired and are training a whole new kitchen crew (apparently the last was too slow) so they slimmed down their menu...a lot! My friends were bummed that their favorite dish was not there. Service was still slow, but the good food, live music and fun decorations to look at (street signs, gas pumps, a huge propeller on the ceiling) made up for it. We had the spinach and artichoke dip to start, there wasn't enough dip for all the chips in my opinion. My boyfriend and I each ordered a flat bread, the margarita and the spinach one to find out it was on more of a tortilla than a flat bread. I still liked it though. The hot wings ordered were said to be spices and delicious as was the Asian chicken salad. We were told the new menu already wasn't working and it had been only two days. I look forward to visiting again when they have had the new crew fully trained and are back to their new menu to boost the rating up a star or two. Oh and I can't forget, they have 99 different beers to try. One you have tried each one, you get your name on the wall. Fun!

We chose this out of three nearby locations and I can't say I'd ever go back. We were there on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't that busy, there were two people behind the bar (where we sat) and yet all of the tables had better service than we did. We ordered beers, which took a while to get and got a menu and we were never asked again if we needed anything. I had to track a server/bartender down to get the check so we could get out of there and get some lunch, which is why we walked in originally.

I was there for lunch,.. .we sat outside watching the dog friendly town walk by. We had flatbreads that were as described and tasty. We will be back if we are in the area!! Beer list was decent!! though didn't partake ;(.

Not sure why this doesn't have a higher rating, but it's definitely above average. I had the grilled chicken and avocado club - delicious and fresh take on what could've been a generic club. Most restaurants get lazy because they think the bacon does all the heavy lifting on this sandwich, but Moon Cricket spruced it up with: --perfectly cooked and flavorful grilled chicken (not dry at all) --fresh watercress (unsung hero) --mustard aioli --hearty multi grain bread Overall, we really enjoyed the lunch experience. Next time I plan to go for dinner so I can enjoy the food, some beers, and listen to live music.

I've eaten here a few times and have always enjoyed the meals. Their Grilled Fish Reuben is the bomb (their traditional Reuben is pretty good too!)! The only drawback for me to their massive craft & specialty beer selection is the lack of taps. Good, not-too-loud acoustic acts add atmosphere but slow you to chat if you prefer and "people-watching" is available on their cozy patio. All in all; "good eats!"

I never ever complain about a business, because being a business owner I can understand how things are but the situation that happened to me was something that was completely unacceptable ... my husband and sister in law went in on a Monday night at 8 pm and walking in through the door we were greeted with the kitchen is closed...we said okay can we get a drink? And the bartender said oh yes no problem...so we proceeded to walk in and on the way to the way to bar another server stopped us and said just to let you know we are closed ...and I was like well we want to drink and she was like you can have one drink and that's it....really? The bar Was packed and I know they had about another hour worth of business...so we walked out...and we will never return. I know where my money is not wanted...so we will go else where. And by the way business owners update your hours on yelp to say you close at 8pm not 9!

I love the food here and atmosphere is okay. There is also a very nice beer selection. However, the service is hit or miss. There are a blonde waitress and asian waitress there that do a terrific job, but there are a couple of black haired waitresses that could care less about their customers. I hat when I go to a restaurant and wait longer than five minutes for someone to greet me. Especially when you are supposed to seat yourself outside. Upon entering the building I asked if there was a server for the outside and was met with the response "we'll be out there in a few minutes". this is unacceptable in any restaurant. This same server has also had me waiting for refills, checks and such in the past. Although there is a pretty good menu and tasty food, I'm not going back there for a while because of my disappointment.

We go to Moon Cricket often, it's a great old style saloon type of place. The burgers are great, and I've had salads that are good, too. Great variety of beers!!!! Live music on the weekend. Very laid back. Can't go wrong. If you're looking for upscale go somewhere else, but otherwise this is the place to be.

Not bad. Slow service, but the food was worth it. The French fries are really good, I wish I got them instead of the potato salad. I ate most of my husbands! I didn't care for the atmosphere.

After a good long workout on Sunday I wanted to try out the Winter Garden downtown for a good satisfying lunch . I will say I did not find it that day . I oldered a cuban sandwich with a salad . The salad was above average, but the cuban sandwich was far from average or above average . It was like my order was the last of everything to make the order. Meaning if I was looking for a heartly sandwich I came to the wrong place . Consequently the service was good so I will go back to see that the grille will make my next experience more satisfying.

Great food...especially the fries and cucumber salad..the shrimp and fish combo is outstanding...seating is limited, so try and get there early.. service was good and friendly and a great atmosphere for downtown Winter Garden with all the other shops!!!

We tried the Grille on MLK day for lunch. The old downtown Winter Garden area is fantastic. I'd go there before Park Ave. in Winter Park any day. Great local shops and restaurants and an overwhelming sense of community. When you walk into Moon Cricket you're immediately struck by the eclectic mix of furniture and decorations. There's a massive propeller on the ceiling, a collection of guitars in one corner, a group of lava lamps in another, signs of all shapes and genres, and the tables and chairs look like they were all bought together but don't quite match...it's a fun mix. There's a bar that runs probably 75% of the dining area and they have a large selection of craft beers. There was no band playing but it's clearly a fun place to be on live music nights. The food was what caught me off guard. For such a simple place, the menu is pretty sophisticated. They have a grilled fish reuben, a shrimp poboy, portobello hoagie, and chicken avocado club with mustard aioli. You can of course get burgers and wings but it's nice to have those different choices. The services was really slow when we went for lunch but they could have just been short-staffed and not weren't anticipating the holiday crowd. I would definitely give it another shot to see if the service improves.

We enjoyed the eclectic, funky atmosphere and live entertainment. The dark meat tuna melt and fried green tomatoes were soggy. The French fries were plain. The burger, chicken alfredo, and Cuban were tasty. The calamari didn't seem completely fried. Our waitress was a little curt when we ordered water because they had no soda. We like winter garden and will try someplace different next time we come back.

Interesting menu with a good selection. Nice place for lunch with wife and kids.

We tried Moon Cricket for lunch today, because it looks so cute from the outside. I was franlkly underwhelmed. They have an seamingly excelent bottled beer selection, although they were out of the first two I ordered. I mention the bottles, because the beers that come on tap are nothing special (budlite, rolling rock). For lunch i ordered the portabella mushroom sandwich. It was very greasy and mostly tasteless. Our server was not great and the food was a little slow to come out, considering that we were one of 4 or 5 tables in the entire restaurant. The only saving grace was that today was "buy one beer, get one free" day!

My wife and I make the drive from Orlando to Winter Garden once a week just to eat here. The food is first rate and the beer selection is amazing. I have never met a friendlier staff anywhere. If you haven't eaten here yet then you should give it a try.

Great low key place to listen to local music! Plenty of beer choices in the house! Nothing is ever wrong with a place that has Bluemoon on Tap!

I have read the reviews. Seen the location. Eaten elsewhere. Hoping to find new places to eat in my future home of Winter Garden. We decided to stop by for lunch one day. Had the fish sandwich and it WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!. We had to go back for another at dinner and invite family to meet us there. We have been five times in the past three weeks. Each time we discover food that is great. Stick with there featured items and server recommendations. Happy Hour B1G1 on Thursday for Beer. Last time I started a 99 Beer Challenge Card and I am five in so far. Classy experience, great live guitarist and songs that feature a genuine pub atmosphere. Family Owned feel with outside seating. The Mayor eats there every saturday. We plan to eat there even more often! I write a review when I feel the location is one of a kind. This location is one of a kind and deserves its credit due. Visit here, eat here, come back again and again. Go NOW. Don't Walk...RUN!

I started coming here for the BOGO on Thursdays but the service has really tainted my desire to come back. I love they have a 99 beer selection but it's like pulling teeth to get someone to not only serve you but WANT to serve you. It was almost like you were ruining their day for being there. Unfortunately, not a lot more bar options to choose from, but the wine bar next door looks interesting. Will be trying that next.

Good bar food plus. We had very nice wraps, a burger, fries and cokes for three and with tip it was less than $40. After riding the West Orange Bike trail all morning, this is a great place to take a break. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the Saturday afternoon bustle on the sidewalk. Service was good and the food came out nice and fast. I'm a fan and will bike there again for sure.

Fried green tomatoes and the fish tacos - perfection!!

Great food, great atmosphere! I gave it three stars because the service is sub-par. They are understaffed and it definitely shows. I really enjoy their salads and their fried green tomatoes! They also have live music which is nice to enjoy during the evening hours.

Great place, friendly staff, nice location in downtown Winter Garden. Nice atmosphere and lots of beer choices. We go a regular basis. Love the po boys and I dont have to miss the game :) !!

Best best grouper sandwich ever! Over 100 selections of beer to go along with that grouper sandwich. I highly recommend this establishment.
